LoopLibrary
offer Royalty Free downloadable loops,
samples, production music and sound effects
via a dark and cluttered looking web site.
When you first visit you may find
LoopLibrary overwhelming with its
neon text split into 2 sections.
Like Productiontrax,
most, if not all of the samples featured
are "hand picked" by a selection
of "carefully screened producers
and composers".
According to the site, each producer who
applies to provide content are carefully
screened, along with the content being
submitted - but for what we wonder?
They
claim they have "high quality loops,
samples, production music and sound fx"
ready for download.
Once you get past the look of the site,
you can start searching or using the samples
navigation menu, which is categorized
into instruments.
The samples are presented and sold as
packs with each pack contain various amounts
of samples and / or loops.
There are some very unique sounding samples
on
LoopLibrary, if your prepared to do
some digging and searching.
As promised, they do provide high quality
samples, most being CD Quality (16 bit,
44.1Khz).
Prices range form $1.49
~ $10 per sample / loop
pack.
LoopLibrary
have made changes to the licensing agreement
for the use of their samples and loops.
It is now clearly stated that you can use
the samples for commercial use.
After speaking with a spokesman for
LoopLibrary they also reassured us
- "To clear up some confusion
from the way our lawyer worded the license
agreement, ALL of our loops & samples
CAN be used in ANY type of commercial
product as long as they are not resold
"as is". In other words, you
must combine them with something else
to make something new and unique. Some
of the confusion came about as the lawyer
was trying to use generic terms and cover
the uses of both loops/samples AND production
music at the same time.
So YES!, you CAN use our loops/samples
on commercial music that you intend to
sell, as well as in music production libraries!"
