Sampleoidz
is an amateur looking web site offering
downloadable sample packs, cds and dvd compilations.
The site is a bit of a nightmare to navigate
around as you have to scroll left as well
as down. There is a small navigation menu
on the left which takes you to DJ / MP3,
Dubplates, Ebooks or Sample Packs.
When you click on an item for more information,
the target page opens in a new window, coursing
even more confusion! We first thought it
was a different website until looking in
the address bar.
Most of the samples on Sampleoidz
are WAV,
SF2,
Reason
Refills
formats and aimed for dance use. (example:
Drum & Bass, Garage)
Some sample packs contain sounds from synths
such as the Korg Trinity, Emu Orbit, Roland
JP8080 and Supernova II Sound Module.
Prices ranges from £3.75
~ £9.99,
depending on format and how many
samples are contained within a pack. You
can pay with most major credit / debit cards
with
PayPal.
Sampleoidz
have a mailing list which they entice you
to join by rewarding you with 100 free samples.
We tried to register, twice!, we didn't
get any activation email in order to then
download said samples.
If you plan to use any of the samples for
commercial use we advise you take caution!
There is no licensing information on the
web site! They do mention "Royalty
Free" in a few sentences but so what!,
get something in writing from them. All
we can say about using such phrases is "Don't
talk the talk if you can't walk the walk"!
